Songwriters in the Round and more!

I’m really excited about working with two amazingly talented songwriters/performers, Noe Navarro and SongBird on an evening of songs of longing, belonging, and community. We’ll be playing in the round in the intimate confines of the Couth Buzzard (8310 Greenwood Ave. North, Seattle) from 7-9pm on Friday, May 29.

Noe Navarro is a Costa Rican electric guitarist and singer-songwriter of Latin American Afro-fusion music. Her stories are defined by the expressive sound of her electric guitar and her sweet voice. She’s played in bands and venues all around town. This will be a rare opportunity to hear her play solo!

SongBird (Colleen Seymour) is a queer indie folksinger who writes deeply personal songs. She performs with a clear, powerful voice supported by lush guitar playing on a classic Gibson acoustic. Colleen and I have been in a songwriting group for the past year, and I can’t wait to hear her play some of the pieces I’ve watched develop.

I’ll be playing mostly new songs written this year, honed with the support of my songwriting group and some workshops I’ve been taking. I’ll be playing my homemade guitar, which you can read more about in the current issue of Fretboard Journal, or on my website.

The show is free (donations accepted). The Couth Buzzard is an intimate, all-ages listening room that is one of the best places in Seattle to hear homemade music!

Hope you can join us for this evening of songs in the round!

Songwriter showcase

Reminder that I am also playing this coming Friday, May 9, in a Songwriters in Seattle Showcase, 6-8pm at C&P Coffee Company, 5612, California Ave., SW. Four of us will each perform a 5-minute set. I’m doing all new material! Hope you can join me, Charles, Jack and Todd in an evening dedicated to original music.
